Broken Hearts Are We
Broken hearts are we,
Torn and battered by
The carelessness of others
And the cruelty of the world
I am not perfect,
And neither are you.
We both have faults and flaws,
Wouds that time has not healed.
We are scarred,
Marked by our pasts.
But when we help
Each other, we grow.
My wounds grow smaller
When you smile at me,
And your scars start to fade
As I hold you close.
We were both stuck in our pasts
Not allowing ourselves heal.
But the glow of your honest soul
Lit the darkeness,
And bruned away the mist.
Broken hearts are we,
but now we start to heal.
